Here’s what the mobile industry needs from app developers and “the cloud.” Consumers shouldn’t have to manually send & retrieve files from the cloud. A cloud storage app, in collaboration with the O/S, should cache on the device, say the top ten most used songs, while streaming the rest and replacing items in the cache as any item rises to the ten most used list. This can be true for pictures, videos, etc. Most of all, this needs to be work done in the background, necessarily on a 4G or WiFi network, though there’s an argument that it could be done on 3G as well.
