Try and guess where battery life really goes…

Researchers at Purdue University have discovered that 75% of your power, using games or, presumably, apps, goes toward location discovery and downloading advertisements. One wants to take a deep breath over this, as battery life is a challenge for Android or IOS phones. The researchers, with considerable positive intent, excitedly suggest developers will do something about the challenge. As the ad-based model is one of the only ways to monetize free, well, -anything, one suspects we may see adjustments, but no wholesale changes. What do we advise consumers? To BUY the app or game? It’s not clear that would entirely fix the problem.
